DRS Realtime is the new online electronic rostering and programmed activity management system, which originated through a partnership between Skills for Health and the NHS North West Junior Doctor Advisory Team. It has been shown to reduce locum spend and achieve better use of clinical theatres and staff time.
Skills for Health Academy North West have developed an Employment Progression Pathway (EPP) in order to provide six month post-programme support to anyone who has undertaken NHS and publically funded training programmes. The aim is to provide support for participants to successfully apply for vacancies within the North West health and care sector and the wider public sector, and to support organisations retain participants which ensures the consistent availability of applicants for band 1-4 posts.
Skills for Life (SfL) is ‘the ability to read, write and speak in English and to use mathematics at a level to function at work and society in general.’ SfL is the name of the government strategy to promote these skills. ESOL (English for Speaker of Other Languages) is also recognised and included in this definition of SfL. It can also be referred to as basic skills, essential skills, literacy, language and numeracy or English and maths.
